The Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) – Gulu Branch is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team in the following short-term positions:
- Tailoring Instructors (2 Positions)
- Catering Instructor (01 Position)
Contract Period ( 3 months)
Tailoring Instructors (2 Positions)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on instruction in garment construction, pattern making, and fabric handling.
- Train students in the proper use of industrial sewing machines and tailoring tools.
- Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and clean workspace.
- Track and support student progress through personalized mentorship.
- Manage class assets and provide proper handover upon contract completion.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience as a tailor or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of tailoring techniques and garment construction.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching.
- Ability to work with learners at different skill levels.
🍳 Catering Instructor (1 Position)
Key Responsibilities:
- Train students in catering skills, including menu planning, food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Provide practical instruction in kitchen safety and hygiene.
- Create engaging, level-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Offer constructive feedback to help learners enhance their culinary abilities.
- Maintain a clean, well-equipped kitchen learning environment.
- Integrate current industry practices into training sessions.
Qualifications:
- Experience in catering, hospitality, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety standards, and catering operations.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Passion for culinary education and youth mentorship.
